Grown by Duvier Horta at Finca El Mirador, this coffee was carefully handpicked in order to select the ripest cherries. The coffee was then pupled and later fermented for 95 hours under water. Finally, the coffee was gently washed and placed on raised beds for 12 days until ideal moisture content was achieved.
Finca El Mirador is located in the municipality of Planadas, in Tolima. Here, Duvier, who grew up in coffee plantations himself, tends to his farm with his wife and three children.
This microlot is 100% Caturra. This varietal originated at Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a natural mutation of Red Bourbon. Caturra varietal produces more coffee cherries and is more resistant to disease than other Bourbon varietals.
