About The Coffee:Barikongo is a Kenyan coffee originating from the Komothai Farmers' Cooperative Society (FCS) in Kiambu County, known for its bright, tart, and juicy flavor profile with notes of blackcurrant and lime, and is a part of the AA grade, a high-quality Kenyan coffee.
The red volcanic soil—deep, fertile, and well-drained—is ideal for coffee cultivation. The mill employs fully washed (wet) processing, using water from the Karithathi river. After pulping, coffee undergoes fermentation, cleaning, soaking, and drying on raised beds. The factory emphasizes sustainability by managing waste water through soak pits away from water sources and encouraging tree planting among its members.
