Brazil Oliveira and Maria De Lurdes Espresso - Single Origin

Piacu; a district of Muniz Freire is located in Espirito Santo and has about 6500 inhabitants. It is considered a large district and it’s core economy is family farming. Oliveira and Maria De Lurdes are 50 and 60 years old respectively and have both raised a family and grew up here within the smaller community of Ouro Verde.

Their farm truly is a family focused operation, and consists of a large variety of crops, intercropped amongst their coffee trees;. They grow banana, corn, beans, avocados and other vegetables; which supplements their livelihood.

The couple selectively harvest and supply quality coffee to both their friends and local coffee shops. They spend a large amount of time picking and collecting nano lots on their own land to participate in coffee conceptions in their region - one of the main reasons why they are considered the top 10 coffees in Muniz Freire every year.

Oliveira dedicates himself to looking after the growth and harvesting of the plants, while Maria is in charge of washing and processing of the cherries. Teamwork is clearly key to the couples’ success over the years.
