India Kerehaklu Estate Lot 3 Natural Filter - Single Origin.
Kerehaklu Estate is a 97 hectare farm, located in Chikmagalur, India; owned and run by Ajoy and Pranoy Thipaiah, a father and son team. Coffee trees are interspersed between dense, old growth jungle amongst rarely mentioned varieties such as Coffea Liberica and Coffea Excelsa.
While the farm is speckled with great history, there is a modern approach with which Pranoy applies his undergraduate biology degree to push the boundaries of coffee processing and potential under the microscope. Careful experimentation and precise note-taking have been key to Pranoy’s success in coffee processing for the past five seasons.
Young and passionate, Pranoy strives to produce top-quality Indian coffee that benefits both the land and the people of India, as well as satisfying the consumer. Their coffees are expressive and eye-opening, and demonstrative of the wide potential of Indian coffees coupled with incredibly skilled processing.
We were first introduced to Pranoy through fellow industry professionals and cupped with him in 2022. Since then, we have been working towards getting some of his unique and innovative lots on our offers list. While this first foray into his coffees is a small one, we’re looking forward to the bright future of Indian specialty coffee through lots such as these from Kerehaklu Estate.
