Gesha variety coffees are sought after and savoured by coffee professionals and coffee lovers alike. This is due to the unique, distinctive and delicate cup profile that is the hallmark of a well-cultivated, attentively processed and carefully roasted Gesha coffee.
We’ve been offering coffees from Ricardo Zelaya in Guatemala since 2009, and we’ve been lucky to share his Gesha coffees since 2013. These days, Ricardo generously offers his Gesha lots to Market Lane before anyone else (and before entering them into coffee competitions like the Cup of Excellence), as he knows we adore his Gesha coffees and look forward to sharing them each year.
Ricardo produces Gesha coffees with seeds sourced from Panama, Malawi and Costa Rica. He grew this special lot with seeds sourced from Panama. Gesha seeds were originally collected from Ethiopia in the 1930s and later planted in Panama. They have since thrived there at high altitudes, producing outstanding coffees like this one, with its vibrant and complex flavours, refined acidity and silky texture.
