This delicious coffee was grown in Central Kenya by small-scale farmers whose plots of land average half a hectare in size. These farmers are all members of the New Ngariama Cooperative, which has a strong focus on sustainable agriculture, and offers its members invaluable agronomic and financial training and support.
At harvest time, some 2000 farmer-members deliver their ripe coffee cherries to the Kainamui washing station – one of three stations owned by the cooperative. The dedicated Kainamui team then gets to work, carefully sorting, wash-processing and drying the coffee.
There’s a reason why so many coffee professionals adore coffees from Kenya – they tend to be very distinct and juicy, with a bright acidity, lovely complexity and delicious fruit notes in the cup. Kainamui is a gorgeous example of a Kenyan coffee that features all these characteristics. We hope you love it as much as we do!
