Nelson Ramirez bought Finca Cheli in 2009, the same day his second son was born, and named it after his grandmother. He invested in producing quality coffees to provide his children with a better future. He enjoys cupping and working with IHCAFE, the Honduran Institute of Coffee, where he offers education to fellow producers to improve their crops.

The famous Santa Barbara Mountain in the Montecillos region has an excellent reputation for its extraordinary microclimate. High altitude, cold nights, volcanic soil and high humidity produced by the lake Yojoa next to it provide exceptional coffee-growing conditions. Coffees from this mountain will often show sparkly citrus, blackcurrant, and complex qualities.
