41 km southwest of Carmo de Minas lies Pedralva, a town renowned for its rocky, mountainous terrain. The massive white stone deposits deep beneath the earth significantly influence soil composition, lending a distinctive effervescence to the region's coffee. This mineral quality, combined with Natural processing, results in ripe fruit flavours and an indulgent, creamy texture. The result is a complex yet silky cup that stands apart from coffees we've sourced from other parts of Minas Gerais.
On the cupping table, this coffee captivated us with its Kenyan-like flavour profile and rich texture. Expect punchy berry and grape notes, paired with effervescent acidity. This is our first year purchasing from Sitio Santa Marta, but we have a strong feeling it won’t be the last.
