Seven Seeds - Peru El Conjuro - Espresso roast

Now in its fourth year at Seven Seeds, El Conjuro is a small regional blend crafted by two producers in Cajamarca, Northern Peru. Grown with care and expertise, this coffee is processed and dried at farm level before being blended with beans of similar quality and complementary flavour profiles. Once perfected, it makes its journey to us here in Melbourne. A true crowd-pleaser, El Conjuro continues to impress the team year after year with its exceptional landed quality. The 2024 harvest shines with bright acidity and a well-balanced character, making it an ideal choice for a refreshing, vibrant espresso.

In the highlands surrounding the small industrial city of Jaén, a hilltop known as Cerro Conjuro holds deep cultural significance. According to local stories, decades ago, missionaries gifted the community two crucifixes; one placed atop Cerro Conjuro and the other at the entrance to Chotantli, intended to protect the people from plagues and misfortune. Every May, the community comes together to celebrate their faith, climbing Cerro Conjuro before continuing the festivities with food, drink, and dancing.

Coffee producers in this region are exceptionally skilled, possessing decades of experience and deep-rooted knowledge. The area's unique microclimates and nutrient-rich soils provide optimal conditions for cultivating traditional varieties like Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon; always among our favourites on the cupping table.
