We’re excited to introduce you to Mr. Bekele Gemeda, a dedicated coffee producer from Worka village in Ethiopia’s famous Yirgacheffe region.
Mr. Bekele has been a longtime resident of Worka, a small village about 13 km from Gedeb town. He manages 6.5 hectares of coffee land in one area and another 3 hectares nearby. Working full-time on his farm, he’s supported by his children, who chose to stay and help out after finishing school. As a father of 11, Mr. Bekele relies on his coffee farm to support his family, with his two older sons also pitching in to keep things running smoothly.
It’s a point of pride for Mr. Bekele to have his hard work recognized, earning his coffee the distinction of being a single-producer lot—a rare honor in Ethiopia.
This washed, local heirloom coffee delivers a wonderful profile with bright notes of honeysuckle, yellow peach, and a hint of golden syrup. It’s a true testament to the care and tradition that go into every harvest from Mr. Bekele's farm.
