In the Indonesian coffee industry, Ijen Lestari is recognized as an innovator and a leader. Dandy Dharmawan, the young founder of Ijen Lestari, originally conducted research on various agricultural practices in Indonesia at ICRAF (International Center for Research in Agroforestry).
During his career, Dandy developed an interest in specialty coffee. Through his visits to various coffee farms, he realized that Indonesia's coffee industry was lagging behind globally. Driven by a passion for specialty coffee and a desire to elevate the prestige of Indonesia's coffee industry, Dandy established Ijen Lestari, focusing particularly on the post-harvest processing of coffee.
This coffee has been processed using a method inspired by wine production, known as Carbonic Maceration Pink Honey. This process involves more mucilage being left on the coffee during its "Honey" style drying method. This coffee offers a vibrant Pineapple sweetness, the tartness of berries and finishing with a note of Black Tea.
