Daye Bensa was started in 2006 by brothers Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo, growing and exporting coffee from their own farm in Shantawene Village alongside cherry bought from out-growers in Shantawene, Karamo and Bombe.
The village lends its name to this lot, and much of the work on the farm is done by local women. Cherry delivered from out-growers is grown higher up the mountain, between 2,000 and 2,400 metres, and processed across the fifteen washing stations Daye Bensa operates.
