Lorenzo Arbildo Ubillus grows coffee on his two-hectare farm, Finca La Naranja, in Chirinos in Peru's Cajamarca region. High elevation, a semi-cool tropical climate and fertile Andean soils give him ideal conditions for quality-focused production. This lot is Gesha — a variety of Ethiopian landrace lineage more often linked to Panama, but increasingly grown in Peru, where the altitude and cooler climate let its delicate, aromatic structure shine. Ripe cherry is selectively picked and washed on farm, with a modified GrainPro-sealed fermentation giving lower oxygen exposure and more stable temperatures for consistent, controlled mucilage breakdown.
