With its combination of high elevations, temperate climate and fertile soil, Colombia’s Huila state has a global reputation for producing exceptional quality coffee. While it’s one of the largest coffee-producing regions in the country, the size of the farms here is small, with most coffee farmers owning around 1.5 hectares of land.
Our export partners for this lot, Pergamino, have worked hard to source specialty coffee throughout Huila, and they’ve connected us with some outstanding producers and stunning coffees. This special lot was produced by six farmers from the remote municipality of La Plata. Each week, the producers deliver their beans to a collection point to be evaluated. The highest quality coffees are then blended together into regional lots.
This lot is a prime example of coffees from the La Plata area. We love its rich and creamy body and lovely choc-malt sweetness. We hope you enjoy!
