This delicious microlot was produced in Santa Rosa, Guatemala by third-generation farmer Guillermo Juárez and his son, Willy. The father-son duo are intently focused on quality, carefully planting different varieties in specific microclimates on their farm, and paying particular attention to plant nutrition.
The Juárez family’s coffees have been placewinners in the Cup of Excellence competition almost every year in the last decade – including this year, when two of their lots placed sixth, in both the washed and natural processing categories. This recognition is both rewarding and motivating for Guillermo. “We want to go further,” he says. “We know we can deliver higher quality. After all, living and succeeding is just about that – always make an extra effort.”
This lot is a Pacamara variety coffee. Willy told us the family’s Pacamara coffee represents the very best of their output, as it’s best suited to their soil and processing methodology. In the cup, La Bugambilia is sweet and distinct with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.
