Santa Isabel is a family-owned estate in Guatemala's Alta Verapaz, where rainforest, cool temperatures and steady rainfall make for excellent growing conditions.
The farm is run by fifth-generation producer Luis 'Wicho' Valdés, who has shifted toward his own biofertiliser and away from pesticides and fungicides, favouring plant nutrition over chemical treatment. This lot was washed and dried in the sun before finishing inside a purpose-built greenhouse. Market Lane has been buying from the Valdés family since 2011.
