Apricot, vanilla, and marzipan.

In 2004 Juan Carlos Mamani established Las Lomas. He cultivated a plot of land, roughly 5 hectares, nestled into the biodiverse and legendarily fertile Caranavi region. His sanctuary sits at 1700 meters above sea level, with 1.5 hectares dedicated to coffee production.

Harvesting and Processing: Coffee on Juan's farm is manually harvested from July through September and dried naturally on raised beds. It is hand-sorted and dried for 15-20 days until optimum moisture levels are achieved.

Red Catuai: Juan cultivates a varietal known as Red Catuai. The Red Catuai varietal is a hybrid of Caturra and Mundo Novo, which was developed by Instituto Agronômico de Campinas, Brazil, and first released in 1972.

Bolivia Caranavi: Caranavi is a province within the La Paz Department of Bolivia. It is known for its high elevation and fertile soil, making it ideal for coffee production. Bolivia's coffee history dates back to the 18th century, with a resurgence in the 1980s as an economic alternative to coca production. Despite export fluctuations, the specialty coffee market is growing, with the help of increased local consumption and interest.
