Reniery Orlando Carvajal Guevara grew up among his grandparents' coffee trees and has spent more than 25 years farming.
To fund the dream he shared with his wife, he worked in the United States for two years before returning home to build Los Pinos into a repeat Honduras Cup of Excellence placegetter. Meticulous soil work, shade regulation and daily pulping keep fermentation tight, and prize money is being channelled back into washing and drying facilities and his daughters' education.
