Fazenda do Cruzeiro was established in 1923 and runs to 1,021 hectares, 381 of them planted to coffee. Ivan Junqueira Ribeiro continues a long line of careful cultivation here in Brazil's Campo das Vertentes, picking ripe cherry by both mechanical and manual harvest before drying it out on cement patios. The lot reaches us through Sancoffee, a certified B Corp co-operative founded in 2000 and the main driver of quality in the region. The cup is grounded and familiar — a chocolatey base with gentle sweetness, soft structure and a quiet, dependable clarity.
