Was a little disappointed with the Candid blend. Delivered a nice coffee darker style roast but unfortunately lacked some of the more deeper rich flavours that other brands have been able to offer, such as Pillar or Code Black. Haven’t tried the other Atypical blends so I’m still curious to see if Atypical can win me over.
Hey Jordan, sorry to hear this coffee wasn't quite up to the mark. Just out of interest, did you have a preference between Pillar and Code Black?
The coffee is pleasant, slightly citrus tasting (in a great way) and very easy to dial in. the 1:2 ratio in under 30 sec works great to start with and I am overall pleased with this!
Quite an enjoyable washed coffee to start your mornings with. I do prefer it cold with milk, the taste is almost akin to a filter experience. I couldn't really distinguish much sweetness. If you prefer more traditional coffee flavours, I would steer away from this. If you're open to new experiences, I would recommend trying this.
This was my favorite coffee when I lived in Melbourne for 2 years. Definitely had that "cappuccino on a rainy morning" vibe. I've been scouring Brisbane since trying to find that type of coffee again, but no luck. I'm so happy that Direct Coffee sells this, and at a better deal than ordering direct from Axil. The roast date was ~ 2 weeks prior to getting on my doorstep, which is excellent for interstate delivery.
I don't get heaps of flavours slapping me in the face. I find this well balanced and very smooth. It can take milk well. I usually opt for black, this coffee works for both camps.
I drink dopio with this bean every morning. It is dark roasted but doesn’t leave any bitter aftertaste.
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Pele. Was there something particular about it that wasn't up to the mark? I know AXIL would appreciate the feedback. Cheers, Tim
Unlike other decaf beans, it was freshly roasted. I liked the fact that its roasting level is not too dark. It has a good fruity kick, which I really enjoy.
